Finally, I can tell people about this! The ever-fabulous Lawrence M. Schoen is my client, and he's nominated for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer! Yes, he is a bit of a dark horse nominee, but that still doesn't make me any less proud of him! Congrats to you both. :)
Whhoooo hoo! Congrats!!
Just a question - Does Lawrence have two agents? I used to be with Firebrand, and I remember him there. Since I write in two completely different genres, this kind of interets me.
Woo! Awesome news!
Yep, he has two different agents Nadia Cornier of Firebrand handles his YA fiction, and I deal with the adult stuff.
Thanks for answering my question - I sent the same question into Miss Snark's blog ages ago, but it never got answered!
:-)
Oooh! That's great, Jenny!
*grabs pom-poms* Go Lawrence! Go Jenny! Go Lawrence! Go Jenny!
Okay, two things. First, I read Neil Gaiman's "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" and it is awesome. It was the first of his work that I'd ever read, but it won't be the last. Second, I'm so glad to see that Brandon Sanderson has been nominated for that Campbell award. I actually haven't read his novel yet but I've been to his blog a time or two and he seems really neat. I like when nice people get cool stuff!
How does Lawrence qualify for the Campbell? I'd've thought his eligibility ran out long ago. Looks like he's got pro publications dating back to 2000.
WoW! Congratulations to you both.
congrats--way to go!
btw, I see that Delany's book on writing got a nomination as well. That book is awesome, well worth checking out. . .
I'm glad B.Sanderson was nominated again. And congrats to both you and the Klingon.
Congratulations Jenny and Lawrence. What a thrill for you both. This period between nominations and awards must be the best part--whether you win or not.
Congratulations to both of you! How exciting!
Congratulations! That's kickin.
