Giant kitten alert

Zoe now weighs 8.2 lbs! She was 7.4 lbs, when we weighed her on April 24, 2007.

She won't be nine months old until May 30th.

I am going to end up with a giant cat. =)

Oh how cute! Mine ended up like that. Does Zoe have huge paws, too?

Holy smoke, does she have Maine Coon in her or WHAT?

My Chanterelle is only seven pounds right now, but she's been down a bit from her usual (she's my sick cat, so we monitor her weight quite a bit). Then again, she's also a small cat, so ...

Maybe Zoe is part black panther? That'd be COOL.

Hey Jenny, I love big cats. We had several at one point, all at least 12 pounds!

My mother used to have a cat - a black and white - who was (and I am not making this up) over 20 lbs. He wasn't fat, just huge. We used to swear his mother was a house cat, but his father was a puma.

I recently lost a cat who, at his heaviest, was 20 lbs as well. Unfortunately, he was fat. Ironically enough, he got fat on diet cat food - go figure. On the positive, though, he only died recently at the ripe old age of 18. But the two of them together were like these gi-normous cat-like bookends. They were a riot to see :)

spyscribbler, she does!

We came home from the conference in Pittsburgh this weekend, and were like, "Your paws got bigger!!!"

She might have Maine Coon in her, but the thing is, she doesn't look anything like one of them. She's totally got an Oriental type body (she's close to three feet, when she stretches out), and the closest breed she resembles is the Burmese.

We've been debating ourselves, whether she really is part panther... =)

That just means she's healthy. Congrats!

My beauty boy (3-1/2 years old) weighs in at a whopping 15 lbs, and there's not an ounce of fat on him. He's tall, long, lean and possibly just a smaller version of a jaguar. :) Slinky...

LOL - she is growing fast! We have one big girl (12.5lbs) and one little one (8lbs).

Chin rubs for Zoe.

There's nothing wrong with a giant cat. Corey was about 16 lbs when "proper" weight, and came up to my knee (and you kow how tall I am). He was HUGE. I called him my mini-panther.

(People talk about their 20- or even 30-pound cats. Those are almost invariably grotesquely overweight cats. Corey at 16 lbs had that sleek Siamese body.)

Random was 13.5 lbs at his 1-year checkup. I'm pretty sure he's bigger now. He looks to be part Coonie, but his head is kind of tiny, so I don't think he can get too much bigger.

Just for scale, the average female cat is about 8-9 lbs and the average male cat is 10-12.

Remember, when Zoe goes on her first rampage, knocking down buildings and devouring the populace, you will be morally and financially responsible for the damage and loss of life.
