Proud to be a feminist

Libba Bray, whose books I adore, by the way, says it so much better than I ever could.

Joss Wheedon and Feminism

PS. For those that are wondering, no, I've never actually watched Buffy. I'll get to it, one of these days. =)

I've got the first season of Buffy on DVD. You can borrow it if you like.

Ditto adrienne. Thanks for posting this here, Jenny, thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Have to say, though, that liberal feminism, in my view, doesn't go far enough. If the last century has taught us anything it's that too often there's a disconnect between legal rights and social/cultural practices.

Go socialist feminism!

I'm rewatching Buffy for the third time (just started season 4.) Buffy and her crew are the best characters I've ever seen on television, but it's obvious Joss is a huge fan of strong women. I have this dream of Joss directing my book-turned-movie, because I'd want someone who truly understands strong women and doesn't just want to stick them in a g-string and hand them a gun.
