Date set

We have wedding plans.

Finally.

August 19, 2007.

(It is not going to be a big wedding--I cannot invite everyone I want to invite. Weddings are expensive. If you live in a different area of the country from me, and you are a close friend, you may not be getting an invitation for this small one, but you're definitely going to be invited to the giant reception we're going to throw next year, once we can afford it. Yes, we're essentially having two weddings. =)

Congratulations! That's wonderful!

And, by the way, the whole "two wedding" thing is really great. We did it. No-one-invited wedding in Vegas that cost next to nothing, then, three months later, huge party. It was completely excellent. And, honestly, I think all our friends had a better time at the huge party because they didn't HAVE to do the whole "formal wedding" type thing.

Congrats again!

Yes, weddings ARE expensive. Especially if you do something like book Aerosmith...

What typically happens with weddings in our family is that everyone is free to come to the church but only a few are invited for the reception. Sometimes we may have two receptions, where everyone can come back to the house after the wedding but only a limited number can go to the dinner.

Congrats! That's the day after MY anniversary. A good time of year to get married. Now you'll have something to celebrate in August, for most people the most holiday-less month of the year.

Just curious: How will the insanity/wonderfulness of the next two months affect your submission process?

Congratulations! I'll be in touch with the weather gods for beautiful, non-New-Jersey-in-August kind of weather!

Enjoy the planning and don't let the stress get to you!

Congrats to you and yours!
The two gatherings is a great idea. I did it myself. First we went to Vegas and then had a huge party outside when we got home. We even ran the wedding video on a loop so that people could feel like they were there.
Good Luck and remember not to sweat the small stuff.

Congrats and I wish you the coolest August on record. But not a cold one.
My anniversary is in August so I think it is a good month to get married.
And we're coming up on 17 years.

Congratulations!

My wedding anniversary is August 13. Lovely time of year for a wedding. :) Except, of course, the heat and humidity (we were married in PA). I still remember the sensation of sweat running down my back during the ceremony. All those layers of clothing, on a 93 degree day in a stone chapel with no air conditioning.

Here's to central air on your wedding day!!

I think having a small wedding and then a big party later is a wonderful idea.

Jenny, congratulations!! And whoa--that's coming up so soon!!

We're doing the same thing--small wedding in Vegas this December, big wedding party next June here in Austin. :) 2 weddings is definitely the way to go.

Best of luck with yours, and congrats again to you and Chris both.

Congratulations! I feel connected because you're getting married on my birthday.

And I think 26 is a wonderful age to get married. You're finished growing up but you're not old enough to be totally set in your ways.

Mazel tov!

Holy Guacamole! That's coming up really fast. What a clever plan, getting the nuptials overwith and having almost a year to put together the big party. Congratulations.
