Rinse with epsom salts...It's like chicken soup for colds: can't hurt, might help.
That sounds highly unpleasant. I hope you can get that fixed soon!
I've been there and I am happy not to be feeling your pain right now. People think getting a root canal hurts. No. It's the pain of the abscess requiring the canal work that hurts so much. Nothing felt better than having that pressure relieved. As Ryan Field says, epsom salts make a good rinse. A solution of plain table salt in water also works well. Anti-inflammatory meds will also help, but I don't know what medications are safe for you with your other health concerns. Always better to err on the side of caution in such instances. A hot or cold compress (try both and see which feels better) may also give some relief. In any case, get well soon!
Ouch is an understatement! That is some serious pain. Get to feeling better soon, okay?
Make the dentist give you Percocet. It was the only thing that really helped when I had an absessed tooth several years ago. Don't let them try to convince you that a couple of Tylenol will do the trick just as well.
