Note the new submissions guidelines

We've managed to lure the wonderful Jodi Meadows into working for us as our electronic intern at the L. Perkins Agency. She officially starts on August 1st, and to accommodate her, I've made a few internal changes to the way my e-mail handles the queries that are sent in.

In order for these changes to work properly, it is *essential* that you include your e-mail address in the body of the query e-mail. She will be unable to reply to you, otherwise. I have bolded this in the submission guidelines link to the left, and noted that they were updated today.

Welcome Jodi to the L. Perkins Agency family! (She'll be with us for awhile, I suspect. =)

Excellent. I found her comments in my personalized rejection to be very helpful and dead-on.

Yay, Jodi!

Congrats, Jodi! I missed the deadline prior to this (which is probably better for you - one less headache and all) but read so many great remarks about your replies. Sounds like a great fit!

Welcome Jodi!

I have a technical question for you in regards to submissions.

Have you noticed a problem in receiving emails that come from Gmail addresses?

In the last three months or so I have discovered that when I emailed people with Yahoo, sbcglobal, and comcast accounts that my emails have become ensnared in spam filters.

I have wound up using a secondary email account to contact them and alert them to check their filters and then my "lost" cyber communications have been found.

Miss Snark proclaimed that she only wanted one email address for her clients or potential clients, and my preferred email address is with my Gmail account, but I would not want to have a query get waylaid because of this technical problem.

I wondered if you have you noticed this phenomenon with your email correspondence and if you regularly sift through your spam filters to find queries among the offers for Viagkkcra, CiaLi$ and winning foreign lotteries.

How's that? ;)

Congratulations, Jodi. And Jenny too, for I’m sure the second intern will be a huge help.

Jodi, I figured you would have run screaming. Stronger than expected...no worries, that can be crushed out of you. {joking}

Seriously, good luck. You'll be using form rejection letters, right?

Jodi Meadows said...

Yep, I'll be using form rejections this time. I'd lose my mind if I did personalized rejections for everyone all the time, but I'm sure there will still be a few personalized notes going out if I think someone needs a bonk on the head with a clue stick, or extra encouragement. :)

I did run screaming at first. I'm not sure how this happened. Jenny is sneaky. ;)

I'm so glad you were able to convince Jodi to stay on. Crossing my fingers that she'll post an occasional stats report, which I find fascinating and highly informative. :-D
