Deal announcements

Here's more deal announcements, which I just put up yesterday. I'm particularly proud of them because they're among some of the first deals that were done just under The Rappaport Agency name!

March 19, 2009

John Joseph Adams's THE LIVING DEAD 2, a sequel to THE LIVING DEAD anthology, featuring a mix of original and reprint zombie stories by bestselling and award-winning authors, to Jeremy Lassen at Night Shade Books, in a nice deal, by Jenny Rappaport of Rappaport Agency (World English)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "nice deal"? Both of these are referred to as nice deals, so I assume that's not some way of saying good job but has an actual publishing world meaning? Thanks! and congratulations!

Lorin, it's terminology from Publisher's Marketplace and the key is as follows:

"nice deal" $1 - $49,000 "significant deal" $251,000 - $499,000
"very nice deal" $50,000 - $99,000 "major deal" $500,000 and up
"good deal" $100,000 - $250,000

Copy and pasting screwed that up... but it is between $1000-49000 in advance money.

Lorin, I'm glad you asked that question because I didn't know either. *is enlightened*
