Libba Bray, I Love You

Which is an odd post title, but sometimes you read blog posts at 1:45am, and realize that one of your favorite writers is just that much more awesome for her political beliefs.

One of the best blog posts I've ever read about Proposition 8

Thank you for the link. I'd only heard of Libba Bray recently and didn't know anything about her personally. I'm looking forward to reading her books even more now.

The problem with society in general is that we evolve so slowly.

Certain things become extremely obvious when you just take a little time to think with your head and your heart. But unfortunately, those who uphold the status quo and the masses for who it works (or so they think) are cool with retaining ignorant, dangerous and illogical beliefs.

in 2009, gay-straight conflicts shouldn't even exist. but oh well.

Wow, powerful post! Thank you for linking to it. Like Amanda, I haven't read Libba Bray's books yet--the link caught my attention because I have a post-it on my desk reminding me to get A Great and Terrible Beauty.

I especially like this line: "What crazy act of hubris allows one segment of the population to determine who can love equally under the law?"
